Pyrometric probes

The pyrometric probes are fabricated with the following components: a measuring element (thermocouple or resistance thermometer),   an insulation of the conductors, an outside/inside protecting tube and a connecting device.

To protect the thermocouples against mechanical or/and chemical aggression they are placed into metallic tubes such as stainless steels or fireproof tubes materials.For more details please consult the file : protections and ceramic.

The choice of materials depends on the nature of the measured medium, the physical and mechanical constraints.

Those assemblies are available into different lengths and diameters.

Resistance thermometers

To make a choice of a resistance thermometer, it must be take care with the followings parameters: the measuring range, the sensitiveness, the process conditions and the compatibility with the measuring devices.

There are a variety of sensors type and different styles.

The most common resistance thermometer are Pt 100 (= 100 Ohms at 0°C). Other are available as Pt500, Pt100 …..
